While I was helping out a co-worker; we could not get Lync to properly work on the desktop.  So during the course of troubleshooting; we reset the password for the Office365 account.

After the password reset, with a different symbol, the Lync client was now happy.

While looking at the original password; it had a \ in the password.

It appears you can change your password in Office365 with a \ symbol.  But the Lync client will not log in with a \ symbol in the password string.

Summary:  It appears you cannot have the \ symbol in your password if you plan on using Lync with Office365.

However, I did find Forms Based Applications is not supported within SharePoint 2013.

I misread the feature list as Forms Based Authentication.

A former colleague, Jason Coffey (click here to view his LinkedIn profile), showed me a great, free project management tool set called Trello.  Trello has a fresh approach to organizing tasks in a visual manner so you can quickly put your arms around a project.

The company has stated the tool set will always be free. So I have assurance that I can use it without the fear that I may get the hammer of going pay for use route with other great products I have used in the past.

They have a great demo/tutorial that I highly encourage you to look at to understand this new concept. But once you start building your project plan; you will understand why this tool set is popular.  It’s easy.  You can visually see and understand the stages of tasks in the entire project.  I love it!

Failed while adding virtual Ethernet switch connections.

So here was my work around:

• Go to Control Panel
• Go to Hardware and Sound
• Go to Device Manager (Under Devices and Printers Tab) – Run as Administrator
• Go to Network Adapters – Look for your WiFi adapter/device.
• Next, right click on it and click uninstall. (Keep the driver.)
• Next, right click on Network Adapters – Click SCAN FOR CHANGES

(Your WiFi adapter should reappear.)
Reboot your machine.

Next, when I rebooted my laptop; I had to resupply the WiFi password for my connection. I got back on the network.

Then when I create the External Network Switch; I did not receive an error.

The turn out was pretty decent.  However, we had a nasty storm come through on Friday, June 29, 2012 that brought about a lot of weather related damage and power outages in the area.

This contributed to perhaps a few people not being able to attend.  However, the people that did register and was able to arrive at the event seemed to have a great time.

I personally want to thank the SharePoint Saturday Dayton committee members who made this happen.  This was a team effort!
