Microsoft has now released the first round of patches for SharePoint 2013 Foundation and Server.  Click here for the IT Pro Updates area.

Starting with March of 2013.

Forms Based Authentication SharePoint 2013 Foundation can be done

SharePoint 2013 LogoAfter further investigation, it was found on TechNet’s website for SharePoint 2013 (as of March 8, 2013) that forms based authentication can be done in SharePoint 2013.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee806890.aspx

However, I did find Forms Based Applications is not supported within SharePoint 2013.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj819267.aspx#bkmk_FeaturesOnPremise

I misread the feature list as Forms Based Authentication.

Special thank you to Mike Smith, MCT/SharePoint MVP, for his further research.

Please adhere to Microsoft’s license agreement with regard proper server license that supports your SharePoint 2013 Foundation platform.

SharePoint Saturday Dayton a success!

2012_SPS_Logo_300I am very proud to announce the first annual SharePoint Saturday Dayton was a success!

The turn out was pretty decent.  However, we had a nasty storm come through on Friday, June 29, 2012 that brought about a lot of weather related damage and power outages in the area.

This contributed to perhaps a few people not being able to attend.  However, the people that did register and was able to arrive at the event seemed to have a great time.
