Dayspug-Logo-2

I will be speaking at the Dayton SharePoint User Group this month. This is my first ever presentation at the user group.

Website:  http://www.dayspug.org

Date:  Tuesday, October 8, 2013

Location: Vana Solutions, Beavercreek, Ohio

Topic: The evolution of the SharePoint Administrator – the future is bright!

Summary: So the rumor mill with cloud and Office365 states that SharePoint administration is a dying skillset, huh?  Tony Maddin begs to differ.  Tony will highlight areas to enhance your professional development so new skillsets can be required to future proof your role as it transforms from an “Administrator” into the future of an “Integrator.”

Office365 Password Character

Office365

While I was helping out a co-worker; we could not get Lync to properly work on the desktop.  So during the course of troubleshooting; we reset the password for the Office365 account.

After the password reset, with a different symbol, the Lync client was now happy.

While looking at the original password; it had a \ in the password.

It appears you can change your password in Office365 with a \ symbol.  But the Lync client will not log in with a \ symbol in the password string.

Summary:  It appears you cannot have the \ symbol in your password if you plan on using Lync with Office365.
